RAISE - education for sustainable development

RAISE (Rural Arts In Science Education) is an education for sustainable development project based at Beenleigh Meadows Farm near Totnes in South Devon providing a curriculum for learning the practical skills required for sustainable living. Different tutors and course leaders run a varied curriculum of short courses to suit the broad spectrum of sciences and rural arts connected to sustainability. Practical teaching uses a wholistic, inter-disciplinary approach.
We are currently compiling our curriculum for 2008/9, but don't hesitate to contact us in the meantime.
We are CEVAS (Countryside Educational Visits Accreditation Scheme ) accredited and fully CRB checked. We offer our courses on our farm as well as specially tailored experiences for school classes of all ages. Go to our School Visits page if you're a teacher or a group leader interested in a school visit.
